Although l am not a great fan of over crowded piers full of chavs, l do like the occasional session for mackerel, early mornings being my favorite, around dawn before most of the world wakes up and heads to the piers, which brings me to my question, 'anyone seen or heard of any mackerel being about', l know its early but was just wondering. Cheers for any information:)

A guy up the road was out on Lone Shark on Saturday, no macky.
At least if the macky come it'll be some compensation for a crap winter season.

I enjoy macky fishing, but I cant do with the piers.

Just a reminder - you can catch them on the beaches you know! I get them from my local every year, I usually bag 20-30 an that does me for the winter.

Hi. I can get that. But there's nothing better than macky bashing at first light with 2 or 3 friends and a guy called auther (don't know his second name I think he's from Stannington ) and not being able to fish for laughing
