well as planned i headed to johnsons last night for a go at anything thaty fancied some fresh crab,i arrived at about 7.00pm and was the only person about for an hour or so.
two rods were quickly set up and out they went, both with 35lb straight thru,2/0 pennel pulley rigs and fresh crab.
on the very first cast after only minutes in the water, both rods were nodding away
i managed a small codling on the appollo on the first chuck and nowt on the other rod.
i was thinking what a start,i hope it carries on,anyway i was getting a few bites on the next chuck and one of them lifted the axcellerater but up off the ground, fish on again, but this fella got half way up the lift and decided to release itself, which i was going to do anyway but never mind,it looked about two pound
tyhen on the other rod i had another codling on,this one being size, probs around the pound mark, the hungry little fellas were talking the bait right down even tho they were stuffed with grub.
this one went into a rock pool to recover, but i think it was a bit knackered and it didnt go back.
it was really hectic for the first hour with both rods going all the time.
then coddy turned up and decided to join me for a bit sport
as the tide got to the top it slowed off a bit,but then coddy pulls in an eel
the slippery bugger was a canny one anall,it quickly went for a rock pool were it stayed most of the neet.
then i think it was coddy again, this time with a coalie.
by this time it was starting to get dark, and with there not being much room on there,we both went to one rod each.
then i think it was coddy who was in again, this time with a good size rockling :
it was turning into a real species hunt6,then it was my turn and i pulled in a little whitie.
the bites were starting to dry up a bit as the tide went back and it was a pain getting your gear back over the ledges as it shallowed, but not one trace was lost all night by neither of us,despite being snagged a few times
then it was my turn again with another codling probs just over the pound mark, before coddy got what he came for and pulled a codling in after it took him to ground, but he persuaded it to his feet.
we called it a night around midnight after what was a good seshion considering it is august after all,the weather was spot on aswell, with hardly a breath of wind and a canny bump on the sea.
here a few a few pics of some of the fish caught,
this was the first hungry little fella
