judging cast distance?????

hi all!! im wondering what my casting distance could be is there any sort of method other than on a field to find out how far my casting is,my average is from one side of the wear (glass centre) to the other side,how far is this?? any help/advice appreciated.

You could try measuring it on Google Earth, that should give you a rough idea of the width of the river.

thanks gary,didnt even think about doin that mate,ive had a look and its about 130-140 yards,thats more distance than ill ever need i suppose thanks again

No probs mate - it's quite a handy little tool for measuring distances when chucking into holes & gullies at some marks & it also shows some marks in quite a bit of detail, quite useful if you're going somewhere new!
