Hello fellow anglers
Ive not been on this site for a while as I relocated to Dubai however Im so pleased to see that attraction of Kayak fishinging has 'caught' on in the NE! Myself and another ex NE angler enjoy the rewards of this method in the Gulf, see a couple of pics

Most of our success comes with trolling lures for King Fish, Shark, Baracuda & Spanish Mackeral and Hammour (similar to cod)

To the lads that are posting the kayak stories, many thanks and keep them coming,
both myself and my pal are enjoying reading about your successes!

Many thanks and Seasons Greetings from the UAE,

JameC

Hi James, nice to have you posting again mate. When you catch some of those fish it must be better than having an engine lol. What do the locals think of your fishing from a Kyak? Is it "Crazy English" or is it accepted as ok.

Jim.

class pics mate, must be nice to get away with shorts and t shirt! certainly different from being wrapped up like Edmund Hillary.
I also use the mini x, cracking little boat, dead stable, turns on a dime and easy to transport, not the fastest though or the best tracker, whats your thoughts?
Keep the pics coming mate.

Hi Jim
Good to speak with you again!

It is good fun and nice to be out on the water with fish shoals of fish on the surface all around you! There are some huge fish out here however due to the contruction of the Palms etc the water became claudy and the fish pushed well of shore. Now the palms are complete the fish are back and using them as reefs. We have just entered the 'fishing season' (Nov - April) the temperatures are mid 20's and the sea temp has dropped below 40'C (yes 40'C)!

You'd be suprised, but it appears the Kayak fishing method is not new to these guys over here and some of the kayaks you see are insane, theyre like boy racer boats! fish finders, rudders, engines, live bait tanks..... the works!

Hi Hotdog, I agree the MiniX is a very stable kayak, its roomy and quite light to put on top of your motor! Im thinking about investing in a live bait tank as we use a small fish called ballyhoo (it looks like a cross between a sardine and a tiny marlin) as bait and in the spring temperatures its pushing 40'C by 09:00am.

Keep the stories and pics coming, I'll be sure to post more on the site on the exhibitions over here!

Take care gents,
James

Aye that sounds like a really good way to spend a day. As hotdog says it must be fantastic to be able to do it in t shirt and shorts too. Nice to see that the sea has dropped to a nice cool 40c too lol, it sounds great. It must be fantastic that the fish are using the new constructions like a reef, you must get some heart stopping runs when some of the bigger fish dart out and take your bait.

Looking forward to some of your pictures from the new fishing season.

Jim.

Yet again more temptation:) although i suppose the temps there would make it even more enjoyable. Keep these type of posts coming please.

Hi James
Looks a lot warmer over there than what we are used to! I love the sport and can only see it getting bigger over here. Keep the photos coming.

Alreet Mr Korkscals! Indeed I will see you next week! I will be required to borrow your gear when Im back and maybe some warm cloths! haha See you on Wednesday pal!

Gents - a few more pics from our Gulf fishing outings!

Durham-Lad, I would do it mate, if I was back in the UK I would for sure invest in a Kayak, Summer Codding and Bass would be amazing!

Jim, I'll get some pics of fish on here as Ive noticed theres lots of scenery pics with not much fish! haha, From the shore we get stingray, blonde ray, baracuda, king fish, cat fish and travaly.... all have teeth and fight like stink!

Not a problem James, it did me a favour actually as I didn't know that was happening. At least if it happens in the future I will have an idea why.

Great pics mate, what a differeence it is being on the sea when abroad and not finding it difficult to move for all the layers of clothing :D :D

Jim.
