hi planning a camping/fishing trip with my young son next week near kirkcudbright area in scotland just wondering if anyone has any info on some easy marks to fish??? my son is only 4 and a half so preferably a beach. any info would be much apreciated
You could try Southerness for flounder,or bass if there's a bit sea running.Kirkudbright harbour is a comfortable spot, for flounder, coalfish, and odd bass.Burnfoot is a good mark this time of year, but it can be quite snaggy, not ideal for inexperienced youngsters maybe. If you have a look at a landranger map of the area, you will see many small beach areas dotted around, most being reasonably accessible, and as the most popular, and productive bait is mackerel, you should'nt have any problems acquiring it.Hope you both enjoy your holiday.
