Anyone got a good knife sharpener they can recommend for their filleting knives.
My wife's got mine blunt cutting stuff on a marble type block. Can't seem to get it sharp enough using a steel anymore.

get an oilstone mate no other sharpener comes close, makes your blade absolute razor sharp

Wander along to Maughans in Whitley to get an oil stone. Used well it will put a good edge on your knife, sharp enough to shave the back of your arm. Then hone the blade whenever it needs it with a “ceramic steel” like this one Ceramic Rod Knife Steel Blade Edge Sharpener Sharpening | eBay
I keep one on the boat and it gives a razor edge to the knives if used little and often. If you’re knives are a hard stainless steel, diamond sharpening stone work well and are pretty cheap despite the name.

sounds like she may have rounded the edge on it... put another edge on with a grind stone to make the V shape, at around 15degrees, then i like to fine it out with oil stone or 1000grid dry strone, and just keep the edge on it with your steel. Should be prime again. Some people like to soap and leather them for mirror finish... not my idea of a fun 30mins lol

Once you've got your knife sharpened, avoid cutting on anything but plastic or wood. Those glass, marble, stainless steel type boards, take the edge off a knife first contact with the surface. By the way the enamel on cattle's teeth don't half blunt a knife as well.
