Langley dam today

Had a few hours there today 11,30 till 4,15 fish were rising all over the lake when i got there, water was covered in tiny black flys tried every thing but they would not take anything just slurping the tiny flies of the top of the water.
After an hour of trying every black fly in every size a bit of a breeze got up and fish went just under the surface still couldnt get a take in desperation put a dawsons on pulled just under surface fish took it first chuck. next 3 casts fish on and lost them any way ended up with 3 fish best 4,1/2 lb. 3,3/4 lb. and 2,3/4 lb hooked and lost a few more all on the dawson's pulled just under the surface.

Nice bag Fishman, were you fishing from the bank or boat?

fishing from the bank never bother with boats to much hard work rowing i never seen any body in the boats catch out.
got all fish from shallow bay at the bottom beside the house.

Those Dawsons olives are like dynamite,however i have yet to catch a fish on one.

Cheers Fishman, for some reason I seem to catch most of my bag from the old boat house area.
Just pondering where to go next week, its such a hard life when your retired

the old boat house corner is my favorite spot on the lake i always start there and always pick a couple of fish up had o day there last year and the wind was coming over from the farm and the farmer was moveing his piles of cow crap about the water was covered in what fred said were shxt flies the trout went mad on the surface all day the flies were green in colour so put a green shipmans on and caught fish all day one of them memorable days.

Me and my mate Sheppie have decided to go to Langley on Thursday for a few hours.
Couple of Dawsons and a couple of Shipmans in the box of tricks, you never know John , the farmer may decide it is time to shift the manure heap.
