fished the low and up at horden this morn, started a seans mark one bite which i missed, then moved to the left of the ramp on the beach, same story, one small rattle then nothing, got home for just gone 6 this morn fishless, but i had a decent night with just an initial spattering of rain, used what bait i had left, cant see a nice onshore happening in the near future so looks like the season is over for me at least, time to strip n clean the tackle i think

at least you were out mate. i mite try horden one day next week for the dabs and that will be my last trip down there for a bit.

You know when the season starts to end when some lads you work with organise trout fishing days. There is one lined up for the 9th March.

well i have noticed the new 16mtr pole is starting to twitch, the new last year box is moving inself in front of everything, i am getting overwelming urges to sit under a brolly, i can see it now, april and the waves crashing on the beach in perfect cod conditions

just one last good north easterly blow would just do fine at the moment ,but doesnt look that way ,but ya never know .and with the climate change the fish could be a month late:)

you could be right about climate change, on merseyside it used to be by december the cod had left the river, now they stay on a wee bit later, the strange one though is one one mark on the mersey i know of you can still catch thornbacks in winter, not many but its not unusual
