Launce/sandeel.

There seems to be a dearth of launce/sandeel locally this year.I've tried the wheel at shields a few times,which is usually guaranteed to have them show up.Alas,this has not been the case this summer.They don't appear to be showing around Roker either.Anyone any ideas as to where, or if they've been appearing anywhere,with any sort of regularity?Would like to get a few dozen if possible,and yes,i know they sell frozen ones in tackle shops to save anyone mentioning it

there getting them 2 and 3 at a time at blyth m8, good size aswell,

watch your head mind, 1 lad even hooked the lamp in the middle.......!

Been down a few local piers mate and I aint even seen a single one caught never mind caught one myself....

1st light on shields friday their was masses shoaling near the surface at the small wall. hooked a few on the spinner, but they just seemed to be chilling 2ft under the surface. But until then i was saying the same thing.

well a was sure a had seen loads getting caught in the last couple of weeks, in fact, am sure av had a few and gave them to lads on this site,
but a couple of lads have just put me rite, al keep of the john smith`s................!

Not seem many from south shields pier (when I go there) but seen loads of them not 20yards out all over the beaches and rock marks south of the pier. They should be at the pier but I've seen them very close in.

I've only caught 6-7 of them on Shields pier this year, last year I would get 20+ in a session.

Could you be a little bit more specific mate,as there are numerous fishing marks down that way.

there plenty of sand eel at seaham aswell mate seen tons when look at water near the gate
