Launched at Cullercoats at 7am and straight out to a wreck about 2mile mark, where there was a boat landing a fish as i arrived. Asked if he minded if I had a few drifts over the wreck, which was fine. Had 4-5 drifts, but nothing at all, so moved further off. Tried 3 more wrecks, got one fish on, but came off after a few pumps up.
Headed off to one more wreck before heading over to the can. Dropped down hard on the wreck and, thump, this felt like a nice fish, but when it broke surface, it was two nice cod. One about 6lb the other about 4-1/2lb

Came round for another drift, and again, right in the rough stuff, got fast, give it a couple of strikes, it came away to be immediatly snafled by what felt like a good fish, but again, it was two.

After a few more drifts over and a couple more fish,

I decided to go to the can for some sitting down fishing, but only got 3 pout, one must of pushed 1-3/4lb but luckily went back.
Met Bazacodbasher fishing on his own, had a bit chin wag, he was having a good day too.
Anyhoo, went back out to the same wreck, pulled 2 more fish in, when this siene netter came right along side and dropped 400yds of net right over the wreck.I watched it on the sounder slowly sinking to the bottom.
I felt like saying, hope you loose it on the wreck, but if he did, that would make it a graveyard for loosing gear on.
It was now 12'0 clock so decided I'd had enough so headed home with a nice box of cod, 8 in total. smallest about 3lb to about 7lb

You'll have to take early retirement Norman, although a little lumpy, the wind kept dropping to nil every now and then.
Forgot to say, all the fish were taken on daylights, even though there was a jigger on the bottom.

The quality of the fish at the minute looks top notch! My flight details are in so see you out there next week Arthur!!!!:):):):D

Graham.

Norman can't retire , he's far too young :D , happy days are here again :)
great stuff arthur ;)

Aye Ray, still got a few year left on "me time" to do , but then it'll be time no object ... :) :) with Mondays and Tuesdays the mainstay (as thats when I hate work the most ! :) )

Well done Arthur that’s a good box of fish and the sea looks to have settled a little for you. We sneaked out for an hour or two yesterday and were thrown all over the place without much to show for it.
I know the netters have to make a living but it’s heart-breaking seeing them blanket a wreck with a net. They must be running the risk of losing their net.

Well done mate, a lot of fishermen getting thier fish fix now.
great report, nice fishing
well done
regards
Paul

Well done Arthur, it was a lovely day to be at sea today, was out on JFK today and the fish turned themselves on just before dinner, had a great couple of hours on 1 wreck
