Best way to sart is with a simple running leger rig (will help detect more bites), and start with a hooklength of about 18".
You can use either a maggot feeder with it, and it is a simple case of filling the feeder with maggots, and they will escape via the holes or an open end / cage feeder. Use the cage feeder in shallow water and the open end in deeper water, filling with a damp groundbait mix
Try to use the lightest quiver you can get away with
Keep a good angle from your line to quiver to help detect bites
More accurate you are with the feeder the better as this will concentrate the fish in a small area (the line clip can help)
Can take a few cast before the fish move in and feed confident but the key is regular casting and accuracy
