Well what a cracking view looking out over the river mouth and piers today, sun beating down, boats going in and out and best of all a sea made of glass.

If anyone was out fishing today it would be a cracker even if you never caught anything.

rich
me and sid have had a vote and you have lost - we have decided to bring the season forward by about 2 months so the consensus is you had better get your finger out LOL.

your right about the sea mate.

are you off tomorrow - if so lets go fishing LOL

Funny you should say that i have decided to put the gear back on and fire (i hope) the engine up this weekend. Then weekend after if all is well do the normal jobs after the winter, bit sand and paint and clean up then a trip out..may not be 2 months sooner but 3-4 weeks sooner.

Ow mind should point out, my first boat trip of every year to date charter or private has resulted in a cod blank so something to aim for and beat this year.

i hope nobody thinks im jinxing anything by saying this, but maybe we are over the worst of the winter and the warmer temps and decent fishing is a sign of things to come.
I saw boats heading out today from Seaham and they were not uptiding, they were heading out on the wrecks i presume.

Still not the "season" yet but said before i feel the seasons have moved 1 month sooner meaning April is now in March.

3 weeks and i may put a catch or blank report up if all is well.

nice one mate - woo hoo cant wait. Give us a shout if you need any help with the jobs.

That goes for me to richy as past years if you need an extra pair of hands even if its just to hold on to your ankles while your snorkling over the side.
BETTER GET THE MELTING POT FIRED UP THE SEASONS ABOUT TO START

Should be ok with most jobs thou i hate with a total passion, polish and wax the boat so that could be a job if your board one day...want the sanding done first...next weekend task

Nothing like a bit of spit & polish i'll nip to the hardware shop for a tin of elbow grease.
By the way i dont recall visiting a polling station and voting ? Jason !

THIS IS BRINGING BACK GOOD MEMORIES OF A COUPLE OF COMPS AND THE TEAM STINGRAY BANTER.
BRING ON THE CHEERLEADERS SCREAMING THE STINGRAY WAR CRY " Foooook'n, B*stards"

I heard the echo is still bouncing about, it has reached Italy now :)

No comps this year lads just lazy fishing days, hope you got some new gear to try as i have nothing new to mess with this year.

Still looking for a new light rod 10-12lb class but not found one that is better than what i am using already.

i now have a vertical jigging rod to go with the fixed spool jigging reel for pirking and shadding - should be fun as can now use jigs down to about 100g on the smaller tides.

"Lazy Fishing Days" Sounds Like The Making Of Some Lovely Days Out, Just What The Doctor Ordered. We'll See How Long It Lasts.

I'm bringing along a pole with No 2 Knicker elastic to give abit more stretch and help reduce the bounce effect

Will it reach 260ft down to them wrecks we fished last year...long way up with a fish bouncing on the end.

I am unsure what rod to go for, may have a look around again thou i have 4 rods so not short of choice.

Well hope to see you all soon :)
