Line Strength Comparison

Found an interesting article on line strength and abrasion resistance here. Theres a table comparing the most common lines.

I was shocked how badly the Ultima F1 performed. The most expensive Ultima line was beaten by the cheapest (Seastrike)!

Was going to get the F1 or Red Ice, but as casting distance for 35lb line is irrelevant when rock fishing, and strength and abrasion resistance is everything, I think I\'ll be going for the Suffix Tritanium.

Mike i normally use the Seastrike 35lb on the rocks as it is cheap and i have a spool of Tritanium as well which i have\'nt used yet,i checked the site and it was quite interesting how different lines faired against each other.
i think at the end of the day its what the induvidual prefers

Some very interesting and suprising results. In some cases it would seem that what you are paying for is branding and marketing hype rather than quality of line!

I wouldn\'t mind getting my hands on one of the Berkley line testing machines. It would be great for testing my knots.

I use Berkley Trilene for the rocks in 40lb or 30lb. We\'ve had a similar discussion before and you\'ll find it\'s not as thin as some but has good abrasion resistance.

I think Seastrike is ok for the money and use it for rig bodies, especially for rough ground rigs when it\'s not too expensive to keep losing.
