Wifeys just been going through the freezer and found a couple packs of out of date liver, my question is, are they any good as bait from the boat and has anyone tried using it (as bait).

yes m8 I have used liver boat fishing and it gets results more so over wrecks

Tried the liver yesterday while out with Jim (NorthStar), first drop with it on middle hook produced a canny whitie, then not another bite on it all day, needless
to say, the other pack is now in bin, fishing was a bit hit and miss yesterday, a few good sized whities, a few cod, one double hooker for yours truly, both in the 4to5lb range, and loads of mack, daylights tipped with squid and fresh mack doing the bizz.

Good luck tomorrow Chris. Lynn and I are out with Jim on the 13th. Before that we are off to "the graveyard." If it turns out to be a tackle graveyard, we will pop in and stock up on leads!

Liver never go without it.
Pigs liver seems to work best. But have still Had many fish on ox liver.chicken liver etc

I might try it myself .. What's it like on the hook?? Is it soft and does it tear easy? Do you have to use whipping elastic? Cheers

No need to use elastic, just slice it into strips or chunks, will be interesting to see how you get on mate.

Heard about you mick, catching on liver when nobody else could get a bite on the ratty apparently.
