Hi Lads,
Last night the winds had turned favourably from a heavy SE and dropped off with a SW and fairly good forecast, just right for an evening sesh on the anchor. The only hiccup was the size of the tide. These small tides are murder when the tide is slack, the boat takes time to settle and stop swinging about. Wind against the tide at this point.
Dropped anchor just as the tide turned on a bit of ground, kettle on and then the pesky whities started, cod were scarce with one just size.
Nowt about in the first couple of hours so I headed off onto a bit of scrap not too far away, no drift at all and no fish !!
I thought this was going to be a waste so I headed back in not too far from where I started with the tide ready to ebb and wind with the tide I settled in for a couple of more hours in the dark.
Straight away I had 3 cod in just under the 2lb mark in half an hour, they went back.
The bites and fish continued with no whities amongst them, bagged another ,6, of which 2 went back and kept 4, which were deep throated around the 2 to 3 lb mark.
Had the ugly sick out with a nice fresh bait and the tip had slight knock then bent right over lifting the butt, just grabbed it and tried to strike, this is a light rod and the tip was nearly touching the water, played the fish and up she came, 11lb-2oz……………lovely scrap.
All in all, a good sesh from had I thought was going to be a waste of time.
A couple of shots of some boat porn.

Anyone fancy a mid-week, night time or weekend sesh please call
