I take the little one in the rock pools around cresswell down to the start of lynemoth bay
all the deep pools/gullies hold LS sea scorpians, blennies etc

great for just starting out as you can seas the sea scorpians follow and take the lures

other wise try one of the harbour/piers on a still day
allways collies etc around
Ive had collies, codling, mackerel, Pollack, launce and herring on south shields pier

Lug, try some rock edges for coalies pollack wrasse and mackerel. Great fun on LRF gear. Or try a beach or estuary for flounder. Gaz.

Pier/breakwaters always a good place to start. If you're into species hunting you can rack up a tally pretty quickly. Personally I like to use light rigs and tiny baits on LRF tackle rather than the lure side of things, but you can do just as well with isomes, small plastics etc.

A bit late but try Amble harbour, we have had Flounder, Coalfish Pollack, Sea Scorpion all to LRF methods. Isome worm is particularly good here.
