maasholm 275

Just came across a rod called maasholm pilk 275 that casts up to 250g and looks ideal for uptide work. It has Germany written on the butt section and the european flag with 12 stars on. I tried Google but even they cant come up with anything

any ideas?

Pilk means pirk or lure i think, so it may be a up-tide come pirking rod, at a guess :exclam:

fishing in norway. years, back there were lads \'spinning\' with an 8oz pirk (or pilk a jonny foreigner would have us believe)

in the mouth of a Fjord, the tide was ripping past at 10knots, so ther hoyed these things out with 10\' rods and fished em as deep as the current would let em get. Saw some monster coalies coming in, loads 10-15lbs and lots of doubles as well,m all in a few hours from the rocks

It\'s a lovely rod with a very nice finish and was used to catch big cats in Spain (not me). Got some pics tho and will post them when I get time to scan them.

The rod has a very stiff butt and mid section and is 2.7m and feels like it could handle anything. I will take it to Lochline next week and try to catch a conger from the shore
