set off from moorings 830 this morning hardly no wind, got out of piers and straight into my fav fish mackeral there were four of us on boat we never stopped for about an hour pulling them in four at a time we then decided to go up to souter bad move not a thing so headed back to piers a few boats there all pretty near each other so something was happenin we were straight in to some big coalies we picked up three codling biggest going on 5lb we packed in about 4 to gut a mountain of mackeral cod and coalies forgot to mention my son caught a herring was great commin back in with seagulls all around boat things are looking good again
 
22nd of May last year so they about a week sooner than last year and 17th of May year before...well thats when i have had my first mackerel in any numbers.

Great catch that, loads of nice coalie around also..pain when going for the cod thou.

aye your right there ritchie they are great at first then you have the bother of trying to get through them:)
 
well after the outing on the boat for wed was cancelled cos the bleedin wind im gonna try blyth pier richie an see if i can bag one from there m8
 
I decided not to fish, never fancied trying to cast a spinner into 35mph wind....tight bars for the next 4 days so windy weekend as well upto 30mph :(
