Mackerel Showing in Whitby ?

Can anyone let me know if Whitby pier is a good mark for bagging up on mackerel when they arrive ? Do they show at Whitby - or if not is there anywhere else on the Yorkshire coast that may be an alternative ? I\'ve never tried to catch them specifically, but fancy a go this year - so any advice would be much appreciated. For example - can I use flash lures, spinners, feathers etc ? Cheers

they do show on the peirs at whitby, but have never fished for them
but i would think the flashers/spinners method would work on a flat calm early morning at first light or late evening.

Thanks Macky - is it a little early at the moment to have a go do you think ? I see some other threads discussing the mackerel beginning to show at other places ? Cheers.
