Would still think you would get mackerel. I was in the JFK a few years back and was still catching them in october

Was out today( 20/9/2013 ) with Richy (Northeast1) on Stingray still picking them up.

plenty mackarel off shore mate from amble to hartlepool

Fished SSP today from about 1pm to 6.30pm, tried feathers for mackerel a few times over the afternoon and got nothing.

Rest of the time spent float fishing for coalies, great fun but all tiddlers.

None under the 4 mile mark but i think thats more to do with the fact the water was brown. We hit loads about 6 mile out along with ling, cod and coalie but it was a bumpy day at sea.
