I'm not a charva before anyone says :D

Spent a few hours on SouthSheilds pier from about 0530,one rod with lug/razor, and daylite's on the other!!

Its the first time Ive ventured past the first gate for about 20 years:eek:

And also the first time I've caught mackerel from the pier/shore (only on a boat before) took 14 in total, some to eat, some to freeze for bait.

Nice one on the catches mate, took my son along from 8am-11:30 and only caught 3 Launce and a tiny bait fish. Only 3 mackies taken while I was there and they were far between, seen a bloke coming off when I was heading on and he had a bag full of them and hopes were high but blanked myself with the lad catching all of the said.

When I got there, must have been two or three right on the end, spoke to a couple lads passing and one of them had a Bass, and plenty of Mackerel, and a few Herring even showing up!.

As I was setting up seen a huge fish jumping, just out from the blocks, guessing it was a salmon? Casted in it's general direction just to see;)

Was a nice morning, calm, quiet etc. Quite a few started to turn up later so guessing the pier would be quiet busy today?
