Mag brake conversion

Hello lads, thinking about putting a mag conversion on my slosh, \i know rutherfords sell them, I'm sick of taking blocks in and out when weather changes, i don't like tightening the spool knob to much as this will only wear the bearings. anyone done this to there reel, I need honest opinions. cheers
