Marsden Beach

Fished Marsden Beach on Saturday in front of the old first aid hut. Sea was perfect and dying off, struggled to hold bottom to start with but then I fished off the platform as the tide got to the top and I was holding bottom better. Bait was blacks and blow lug on a pennel rig. I had high hopes for a nice Codling but it was not to be, one bite and one fish in 3.5 hours, a 10 inch Coley Went back to get bigger for next time.

Fished there sunday in thre open had 4 good flatties for 3lb 7 3/4 oz threw a few smaller ones back. Flatties were between 30 and 36cm.

Nice place to fish but hard work back up the steps with all your gear.

I fished the 3 shelves and had 3 undersize coley on the Sunday.
