hello lads, just looking for a bit of advice on Marsden Grotto. was thinking of fishing it this week for the first time. any hints/tips will be much appreciated, cheers, mark.
high tide left to the rock, and fish low tide up to the right to the rock, watch for the tide coming in as u will be cut off and wont get out of the bays
What leads do you lads use grip or plain, is tackle loss high. Sorry for all the questions but fancy fishing there myself sometime, great thread to have for us marsden noobs.
if ur fishing near the rock itself you wount lose much, infact ull lose nowt, 2nd and 3rd bays are tackle hungry. if fishing up near the stone steps onwards to camels island expect to lose gear. i find using a plain lead when its not to rough is best, when a big sea is on i wouldnt even bother fishing near the rock coz ya gear always ends washed back up... never had a big cod from the rock but expect some massive flattys, even had a few bass turn up
