metal band missing

iv got a komp ss had it quite a while bought it second hand decided to change the shrink took the butt cap off no metal band theres 1 on the top of the butt checked the lenght 13ft 10 when to gether so dont think theres any missing any ideas boys why its missing the numbers match on the butt and tip

Don't worry about it mate seen it happen lots sometimes on the older or well used rods with the salt water and the taking off and putting back on of the butt cap after using reducer they sometimes come slack and fall off.even seen a few stuck in the butt cap lol.if it bothers you century or most rod builders could replace it for you.

The tip and butt may possibly be from seperate rods (ie: one banded the other not) and then stuck together?

the numbers match on the rod tip and butt. fishes and casts very well just though id ask only paid 80 for it so will still sleep to night but thx for the replys lads

Butt could off been chopped

Easy to find out if it's been shortend both sections should be equal so if you've measured it and it's 13ft 10in and there equal sections it's not been shortend.and for £80 I would care either way.

Ive had metal band centurys that didnt have it on the butt end and they looked like they never did. 1 was an eliminator & can a balls think what the other was!
