anyone see the meteor last night ,never seen anything like it so close amazing to see

I was in the gatehouse at work when I saw it approaching. I thought it was a plane low down, but it wasn't on any of the usual flightpaths. It got closer and closer, and brighter and brighter. Then I saw pieces coming off the back of it. Thinking that it was a plane breaking up I ran outside for a better look and to see where it was coming down. I realised then that it was a huge meteorite.
I've seen hundreds of shooting stars and meteorites over my 53 year lifetime, but I've never witnessed anything even close to that one last night. It looked like something out of a disaster movie. If anyone can find any of the pieces that were coming off it they will make a fortune. Bits of meteorite are very sought after by scientists who pay huge amounts for them.

A once in a lifetime event that one last night.

Aye a seen it was amazing sight been on news that it may have been a satalight burning up in the atmospher
