Fished 2 hrs down and 3 hrs up.bait was rag,macky,squid and sandeel,with 12 month old re-re-re- frozen peeler as a backup.
Took my son Jack for about 3pm,1/2 doz rods on the pier.Started fishing towards the heugh,long short and middle distance(for me anyway 20,40 and 60 yds lol) on mainly rag and macky.Nowt for me(all night by the way)just to give you a clue lol.Jack got probably THE smallest codling ever caught by man on rod and line.He cast,rather lobbed about 20 yds into the harbour side got a knock and that was that,a 2-3 inch codling.By this time there were about 20+ rods on the pier with nowt,then someone got one of those 'orrible weevery things,Jacks turn again a bit bigger this time,about 5-6".Both caught on rag and squid.Another young'un at the end of the pier just dropped a bait over and caught bits all night.Finished about 8.30pm
