Slinky Kate catch report 26.02.11.
Nice one Rich, thought I'd maybe reported whilst asleep

As the thread title points out this was a mission accomplished today.
The mission - (which Tony and I accepted fully) was to get back into the routine of "Saturday Fishing" all in readiness for the coming season, the target, catchwise, was simple ...... a fish each ........
And of course

February is rather early for the boat fishing season so when the chance of a lull in the weather came about we jumped at the idea, even in the knowledge that fish were of a rareity at the moment.
Not wanting to strain ourselves too much we opted for a 7.00am start (to coincide with tackleshop opening for bait

so, off we went shortly after fuelling up (at the first time ever of over £1 a litre for RED diesel

Both Tony and I had a load of "new" toys to try but opted to leave most at home for this trip as it was difficult enough remembering where we stored the ropes never mind the intricacies of new tackle, rods and lures.
Sea was fine with not really a roll, the kind of sea that in 12 weeks time would be heaven to us all, but in February

We had three things to do today :-
1 wake up slinky .... accomplished
2 test the new Garmin 556s GPS .... accomplished ...... phew ... so much info
3. Catch a fish each ..... pleased to say ... accomplished, not the biggest and certainly codling and not cod, but a few platesfulls of fish suppers nevertheless .......
All in all a great stolen day out long before we usually start the season, and we both experienced the catching of fish .....
as ever Tone cheers mate .....
no pictures I`m afraid, nothing out of the ordinary to photograph (which is exactly the way I'd like it on a first trip of the season)
other than maybe this ....... The Trip - by virtue of Garmin ......

cheers
