Monster hound from Shields pier

Yeah, zooming in a bit I can see the little stars - just the size threw me a bit as I've had a few little tope like that over west, don't think I've ever seen a hound so small! Still, an unusual catch like you say - I've yet to manage a doggy from this coast let alone a hound of any sorts!

Gary :)

thanks lads was going for plaice and got this monster thanks mark for putting it on see you down there to day m8

Nice smoothy Bucky. Second one in a week off the pier. Can't help but think mark and Stewart are right, if someone actually targets them we might find out we have a bit of a summer population off the beaches. Well done mate

Horden and Seaham north pier would be my bets. This is the second year we've been off the north pier, looking forward to seeing what it throws up on warm summer late evenings next year

Yes, they can be caught from Horden so I am told by a reliable forum member - I've never seen any personally from Horden but then I dont target them. Tends to be a good beach for many different species
