Few photos , fished close in off Church point with Mark Day . Great with plenty size codlings put back and some better fish kept for the pot few around 4 to 5lb. All baits taking fish including mackerel , cod were feeding on herring sprats which the better fish were spewing up . Mark used some for bait and caught on them , good signs for the season ahead . Water very dirty after recent seas with a Northerly swell running past the point on a good ebb tide fished till bottom water around 11am , had me fix now back to weather watching lol.

Well done Davy, you certainly kicked ass today because we fished all the inshore and offshore marks around St Mary's and between the three of us we did not record one bite. The water was very dirty and we usually need clarity for the shads but there were lots of fish showing on the sounder but still no takers.

Aye Tony thought that was yous off Newbiggin , drifting the ground further off . Think the cod were feeding on sprats if water had been clear the lures would have murdered them. Initialy thought i was seeing loose weed floating past on the sounder but probably sprats .
