much point in bait fishing these times?

is there much point in bottom fishing at this time of year?if so what baits rigs etc and what should i expect to catch? thanks...Ralph

depends where your fishing.
here in n/e england you can have some good sport fishing the kelp gullies with fresh crab, had some red codling yesterday bottom fishing with peeler crab.

As Tony says you are better off fishing rock marks into the kelp, but you can always try places like Roker pier. It always has it\"s moments. Talk to some of the locals they will keep you right. I personally have had some good bottom fishing from there during the summer months.

try the beaches as well there was a report of a good sized bass on saterday eveother bass are showing also flatties coalies and the odd cod mainly with rag or fresh peeler all kinds of rigs 2 or 3 hook flappers pully rigs etc.
