Hard luck lads sounds similar to me and Insano-cos he lost sinkers (including one of mine) and i lost none :)

i will buy you a new sinker mate!!! thats the first time in 20 yrs of fishing i have resulted to usint 2 5 ounce gripers on the same rod! and it caused more problems as i was holding bottom but got pulled in every 30 seconds by some numpty who wasnt!!!

5 sinkers in one day! more than in last year!!!

There's still the odd cod about. I got one over 2lb on Monday night from near the steels. The mud hole's a funny place. You can either lose loads or no gear, depending on where you're fishing.

Waste of time fishing from that point, your fishing over mainly hard rock with very little or no bait to tempt the fish in, you may catch only the odd fish.
Try the middle of the bay (thats between where you were and the most nrtherly point) short to medium lobs with big baits, or the most Northerly point.
