Multiplier for a novice shore fisherman

Hello Kens, did the ususal tuning with the penn 525 gs mate. Washed the bearings out with lighter fuel and then applied gear oil to slow them down. Put all four blocks on for the first couple of sessions and then took two blocks off. Its still that way now and has been brilliant for me.

cheers.
george.

I must be too keen on hot tea and hot food (as well as warm beer) because I bought a Coleman stove (no, that isn\'t for the beer) and I\'ve found the petrol filter for the stove is great for filtering unleaded pump fuel to clean bearings. Just a little into a Sharwwods Chinese sauce bottle (food again!) with a metal lid and you can carry it with you for two-day trips like the open at Bridlington. Then again, maybe I\'ve just been living too long in Yorkshire.

I like MikeR much prefer the Mag Elite for normal beach fishing, set the slide to 4 and after the intial thump I slide it to 0, goes like a train without nesting up.(smooth as silk).
There is not a great deal to choose between the slosh or the 535, they are both cracking reels and both do the job perfectly well, personally I think the slosh is easier to tame and its slightly cheaper so the slosh just edges it for me.
Just my preference tho
