Hi all
Im new to using a multiplier, seem to be able cast good and far
But the last few casts of my last session i ended up snapping the line
and losing all my gear.

I dont use a shockerleader as i was told i wont need it as i wouldnt be good
with a multi yet, is the reason it keeps snapping because im not using one?

The line im using on the reel is rovex devil 20 lb

you deffo need a shock leader mate

If i was you mate i would use shockleaded if ya only using 20lb line
that will be one of the reason its snapping plus how long ya had the line
on ya reel it might need changing.

So the line is ok?
Just need a shockerleAder to take the strain of the cast?
Am i right....
And what should i use, i have 80lb line will that be ok

Only had the reel since friday mate, so 3 days :p thanx for the feedback :)

Cheers much apreciated info :) just need to learn how to tie the knot :p

there are loads of knots yiou can use to attach your leader mate, to each his own preference i think, my preference is the bimini twist.

As The lads have said it will be because you are using 20lb line and no leader, most lads can snap 20 line just lobbing a 6oz sinker. You havent had any birds nests have you ? that can also cause snap offs

I only use this knot cos its quick and easy and on cold night some other knot can take time but like Jimmy say every one to the own.

i can see what Eddies saying about quickness on a cold night with freezing cold hands, lucky i carry hand warmers :D:D:D

line keeps snapping

always use a shockleader.Have you had the reel set up or are you using it straight out of the box?Is it birdnesting after each cast? Ask about and someone local will help you out

My line keeps snapping :(

Unless your throwing 2oz mate use a shocker.

Rule a thumb is 10lb for every ounce. Eg. 50lb = 5oz

Use a slim beauty knot to tie ya shocker on with.

Its safer for yourself and others around you if you have a leader m8,I have 18lb main and 50 or 60lb leader.if your line is in bad condition it might be a idea to take it off and re-line it with new line.

as a general rule craig, you would use a leader the equivelent to 10lb per 1oz. of lead,so if you are useing a 6oz.sinker 60lb.leader will be fine.;)
