If you go to Yorkshire Trading, Manor Walks in Cramlington they have a nice fishing section now which includes Rod and Reel starter kits (Fladen) from £24. Most the lures and feathers etc are only 99p per pack.

yes i know it is crap, but this year i going to use the lightest cheapest rod i can buy and use it for macky.

going to start with 10lb line then 7lb line and final 5lb line,

i have used these rods in the past and it is great fun,normally the real only lasts one session,but i am only doing it for the sport

great fun watching the rod bend from the butt.

they have some good stuff well worth a look,spinning reels,line,hooks,headlamps etc iam to have a look for the mackie season .but my mate steve bought reels from there the one at roker and i use it for spinning for pollock and it was spot on ,and i think he paid 5 pounds for them

i had a look in a few weeks ago its ok but flash fishing tackle shop sell all the stuff they sell and most of its alot cheaper...
