Ha ha! Dogs

don't you just love em? Never had any bother with them when I'm fishing , cos I never take them , too much of a distraction , did have one who ate my koi out of the pond once and another who was in training as a field trial gundog , took him and an older more experienced bitch pigeon shooting one day , had a few decoys out in a field in front of the hide when a huge flock of pigeons settled further up the field , knowing no pigeon would now come to my decoys I told the trainee to stay in the hide whilst i took the older dog up to chase the pigeons , good obedience training for him i thought

, left him there and stalked this flock of pigeons with older dog at heel , got so close to them before they twigged that I even managed a left and right and dropped a couple as the took off , thought the sound of the gun would have the trainee haring up the field but no , he stayed put in the hide , I was well impressed.......... till I got back to the hide and found out why he hadn't came out ......... he'd only ransacked my bags and ate all my bait

........... little get!
Same dog , trained up out shooting ducks , sat in the hide with just him , a flurry of activity at last light saw ducks falling all around the hide , him being fully trained and obedient sat and watched the proceedings marking down the ducks as they fell , the whistle went to end the shoot and I set him off over the pond to retrieve the ducks that had fallen in there , then out after the ones that had fallen it the stubble behind the hide , he was away ages , I was beggining to wonder where he was and wentback to the hide to get my stuff and go look for him ............... that's exactly where he was ...... in the hide eating the ducks he'd retrieved from the stubble field ...... little get

He turned out to be cracking trial dog though , and eventually went to live in the French/ Swiss borders with some multi millionaire as his trusted

companion ....... jammy get
