New fishing mark

Has anyone tried fishing the new mark up Newbig? with them bumping all that sand in the area...am i right in thinking that at low tide you can get further out and cast into some of the areas that the boats used to fish and do well from only about 300 yards from the shore.

I am looking forward to given it a bash when the cod show in good numbers, just not sure if the area will have settled down yet with all the work that has been going on.

Haven't tried it but we pulled in for a look at the alterations to the bay when I was out with the family. Was wondering if access is allowed onto the new breakwater since I couldn't see anyone on it?

hi m8

hi m8

i have fished there a couple of times now yes u can get out a lot further now and the fishing is good got some good cod the other week up to 2lb lots of flatys to so it's not a bad beach m8

Excellent.
I prefer early mornings so I might scope out the tides and weather and give it a go at some point in the next couple of weeks if I'm not too busy.

Sounds good to me.I have fished it from the boat very close in and done well so will deffo give it a bash over the winter.

Still gutted the bad weather has come so soon, i was hoping to have at least 2 more boat trips before the end of the season and with work blocking leave and poor weather its looking like the season is all but over for me. :(

I have not shore fished for a few years now over the winter months. I used to fish twice a week every week from Oct-March but got sick of the lack of cod. I am Feeling like this could be a good year from the shore if the amount of fish from close in marks from the boats is anything to go by.
