New Ideas?

Anyone got any new Ideas for the coming season? it`ll be on us in a couple of weeks ..................

I got one major function to try out that I`ve threatened for the past few seasons but never got round to trying, I got all the gear ready on board but it needs to be done in a calculated organised fashion and everytime I get out there I can`t afford the time LOL I just want to drop the line over and fish ................
But this season i`m going to put some time aside to experiment and give it a go, what I`m trying to do is to ................. well, couldnt tell you that yet could I :)

hi Sean, well nothing special in the targets just better bigger and more cod & ling
wouldn`t mind a few haddock, not been many around up here for the past couple of years

Well I've just purchased a bag load of hokkais, daylites and Royds from Rob as well as some big ol' pirks...but that's for later in the season

Fancy trying that live bait scrinson at some point and maybe trying for some top water species on the light gear...

I suspect there's a lot more fish out there waiting to be caught if we take the time to target them and forget about cod for an hour or 2

I know exactly what you mean norman, it is so easy to just drop a line over with tried and trusted methods, knowing there'll more than likely be that satisfying tug on the end

got one hair brained Idea I fancy trying myself this year, dabbled very briefly in scotland last summer, but will give it a serious go this year.....

fishing a plug - rapala or the like, long trace from a boom with the usual big boaty lead on the end. Th brief experiment last year leads me to think it could be dynamite, I could feel every wobble and dive of the plug from 60 metres down, must surely entice the fish out

Just watched Matt Hayes and Mick Brown Pike fishing using HUGE latex lures...got me wondering if one of those on a flowing trace tipped with a side of macky might entice a leviathon out

now now tony, careful with the latex you dont know where that might lead .................

Ell/mark, will you be needing longer lines and a 12 foot gaff when you fish off pansy, or can you fish via porthole?

:)

She doesn't have any freeboard (?) Norman - you can lie on deck and suck seawater with your lips - not saying my neck needs winding in like

gonna fit a secret underwater submarine dock in a james bond stylee. Got a bottle of bleach to turn my fluffy black cat into a fluffy white cat, got a big stick to poke one of ell's eyes out and a chair with buttons on for him to sit in and stroke the cat menacingly, whilst men slide down ropes into the hold

While I'm here ,I've always thought livebaiting although sounding cruel to some might be worth a go . Oh and Tony do you remember the huge orange twintail latex thingy I used ......... only managed a coalie on it lol .

ive got lots of ideas and bits made up in me box ready - just need the invite to go fishing with others who want to experiment - tried a new bait rig towards the end of last year and it totally outfished other rigs so things look promising still hush hush at the moment

no fish distractor left so have had to try something else.

where is that packet of shads?
