hope this is the right place for this thread.
hi all my names mark and im a local lad from jarrow.im a shore fisherman and have just got back into it after a good few years.i have mainly fished at the pier, tyne and blyth, although a long time ago. my biggest fish was a 10lb cod of balcary rock scotland.
any way nice to be on this site.i fish with a old century ignitor and a penn 525mag reel.im looking forward to up grading my rod for the winter and thinking of buying a new century rod, but dont know which ones best for this region. i was thinking of buying a century carbon metal, but dont know if its strong enough and robust enough for this area. im a fair caster and only five foot six. any advice on the subject would be appreciated.
any way hope to here from some of you and perhaps meet some of you at the pier.now im of to try and work these forums out and find out where posts go. :red::red:

cheers for reply, mad as fish, remember shore thread next time, but what do you think about the century carbon metal as a rod for this region. do you think it would be a good rod to buy.
cheers mark

mark1964 I totally agree with what my good friend waco has said here. Both him and my mate goose09 use the carbon metal crest and where ever they go that rod has never let them down, quality pieces of kit.
Although one of waco's cm crest's though it would try to 'fledge the pier' and took like a 'cormarant to water' and hasnt been found to date :D :(.

Myself personally Im gonna swing between my Greys apollo MK3 and my Century TTR Big Danny for the winter sessions this year, am hoping this winter will be the one for me and catch a "proper" cod (6lb or bigger) :D :D...

A very warm welcome to this cracking site mate. :)

Welcome to site mate. I just stick to my wr300, summer, winter, autumn, spring for any species. Just love it especially as I can now get it apart. Cheers Terry.
