new penn mag 2

Hi all, i'm just wondering if anybodys read a decent review on these new reels or even beta has any1 has actually experienced using 1 yet? The thing is my reel of choice at the moment and use the most is a penn mag which i find great but am thinkin about purchasing 1 of these new1s if they really r the dogs bollocks. any help wud b great
 
They are not due in the shops till mid October,they have had some bother with the production line.
I have a 515 reserved at Veals.
 
I cant wait 4 mine to arrive! Got 1 ov each orderd. Lukily, the problem with them is not mechanical. Penn just dont like the cosmetics on one of the side plates. Not long to wait though!:D:D

Mind u, since then with this minor cosmetic problem av had to wait and cancel one ov them:(, decided to get one at a time;). this means i concentrate on more important things, like fishing!!:D

As I said, I orderd from gerry's B4 THEY WER DUE TO B SOLD:@, so I cud make sure I get them. Anyways a was on phone to them earlier told them to cancel. This is becuse a gud local takle dealer (Mr Wood) has just got the 515 mag in, so am gonna support my local by buying them off him...:-)

Think the capacity is 270 yards of .31mm so for .37mm (18lb) maybe 200 yards if you pig load it.

Looks like an out and out clean beach reel aimed at the new generation of low diameter to breaking strain lines to me, wouldn't want to put more than .35mm on there if I had one (and I'm thinking about it).

Its not only 4 beach fishing. Those boffins at penn hav managed to squeeze al the power of the 525 mag into a smaller reel, including the 6:1 retrieve. So its not just for beach, but the pier, rocks (at a push), light boat, ect. Mind u, its size would suggest it was a beach reel. Had a hold n a look at one yesterday. There actually alot smaller than I thort theyd be! But this wont deter me though!:D:cool::yltype:

It cant say sum words in this post about how wrong u are. There not the same, they look it, but have new mechanics, like a much better magnet setup and improved spindle n bearings. U should never call somethin bad when u hav never used it. I havent used one, but I wil pleasently suprised when a do, no matter wat its like/shape/colour

i have a 525 and love it, so was defo gona get a 515 until the tackle shop told me they've moved the manufacturing of them to China, am thinkn long and hard about it now, waitn till there's been some reviews now
