Well I set off from newbiggin about 6.30am it was foggy but could see about a third of a mile so judging the forecast had to change lunchtime /2pm set off around the beacons to where it drops to 20mtrs not far from the pots wasn't too bad so gave it few different drifts and picked the biggest of the codling of 2 1/2lb after an hour fishing a long flowing trace baited with rag with an orange muppet a foot above which it took the muppet.
It was abit chilly with the mist hanging about so was pleased when the sun made an apperance then got the little one at 1 1/4lb on the muppet again when the the westerly picked up and cleared the fog we threw the anchor down to see what was gonna happen about 11am got the third at 1 3/4lb had to gloat at that point seein as my father I was out with had only had a tiddler but funny day all round. the weather turned snotty to say the least so put all away and headed back and got a complete soaking in the process it all seemed to happen faster than anticipated so bit of a lesson learned there not to go out if there's a chance of getting caught out by worsening weather!! lol
Got home and all cleared away and sorted for nextime so will be havin a few tonight:D:D:D

hi there how do u launch from newbiggin do you have a tractor or a jeep just i used to launch from there until they changed the beach coz i heard theye were getting stuck in the soft sand if you could let me know would b great as i fancy a trip out from there again.

Hello Davey i've got a 4mtr zodiac inflatable with launching wheels on the transom so I can just pull it over the sand by hand then go back for the motor it's a heavy pull with the motor on I was going to get a trailer boat but went for this option to save storage, trailer care etc the lads that launch from there all have 4x4's the sand is really soft we came in yesterday and saw a coble come in and it took a tractor pulling a tractor and the wheels were still spinning sorry can't give you some usefull info the beach is just so soft.
