Nice change

Had a spell down seaham pier on monday afternoon ,myself and friend pop fished at the spiel's as the sea was up a bit and the waves were breaking over the pier, we fished from low water up ,about 2 hours in to it, pop got a good bite and hit in to a what looked like a nice fish , i watched as he brought it in . I was half expecting it to be a plastic bag ,but to my surprise it was a nice 2.5lb codling, very nice i thought ,we might be in for a good day but it was not to be ,had no more bites ,but i did loose 6 weights and full rigs, how sick was i when we went home, 20 yards away from us, another codling was pulled in ,about the same size as the one pop got, don't know what happened when it got dark ,but i had to go, and so that was the end of a very enjoyable day .Looking forward to the next session:)

Karl if your off the end its deadly for snags.

Number 20 area is the best for snag free fishing.

Mind i suppose any decent cod are in the snaggy areas.

Mick.

off the drum head from pegs 2 and three are only snaggy for the first 80 yards, you really need to belt it out and youll find the clean ground, then wind like hell on the retrieve,;)

I don,t like the drum end - far to snaggy.
Me and my mate liked the look of the little beach just as you walked up the pier to the left. In fact you could fish easily without going onto the pier.
