Night to Remember

Got down to my favourite mark at 1am to fish the flood. From first cast to last it was a bite or fish a cast.

I ended up with 13 codling, 2 whiting and a pouting. Best fish were 8-1-0 (which was returned), 6-0-0, two of 4-8-0 and 3-8-0. The rest were between 1.5 and 2lb. I kept 7 fish and released the rest. I must have had about 40lb of fish, all on lugworm, and thats without the 7lb+ fish I lost on the lift.

No point in keeping it Abz, it was hooked on the mouth so decided to get it back as soon as I weighed it.

Well done all round mate.. Like Abz said not many put 8lbers back.. Lip hook or not, the temptation to keep it generally wins over (myself included) A deserved session..

Another cracking session, well done on putting it back too, i told my 3 1/2 year old son that i would be taking him fishing in the summer when he is 4.
"son i will take you fishing soon"
"ok dad"
"and what do we do when we catch the fish mate?"
"i like fish so we will eat it with tomato sauce"
"only if its big enough mate and you will eat it all and not waste it matey"
"ok dad, i will put it back so it grows into a sea monster then mam can get a bigger pan"
