Many reasons.
There was a letter in the Leader as well as interviews on Metro and Newcastle radio.
It would take a long time to go through it all but broadly:
Due to a change in insurance companies Northumberland police will no longer provide an escort to this sort of event.
Not just us but other events such as fun runs etc.
That means the run gets split and traffic problems caused my the run are bigger.
Lots of new estates means finding a location for our night time do is almost impossible.
Even when we do find a venue some of them treat the run as a cash cow,they assume,wrongly tht we make a hge mount of money,we don't.
But they want to as they see it get there share.
This year was not the case,just the reverse.
Tha owner was asute enough to see that simply getting 400 punters in to your bar drinking generates a huge amount of income.
Throw in the fact that myself and the other co founder of the club and mainstays of the run cannot give it the time it needs.
He works abroad most of te year and with me being a carerit means i am stuck at times
