Northumberland Sea League

With the sea league due to start in the next few months and with rumours of a few teams dropping out is there much interest from people to enter a 5 man team to fish this. Matches are fished at Whitley bay, Amble and Newbiggin.

Each team has 5members. They each fish a selected zone drawn by the captain.

For e.g. Zone 5 in the whitley by area is from Blyth Pier to Rocky island. 1 man from each team is in that zone and given points on where you finish in relation to the other teams members.

Scores are totted up for the night and in a league basis for the 6matches.

It's £50 to enter a team (£10 each) and £5 each match.

All money is payed out on the night for 1st and 2nd in each zone and also heaviest fish.

Great way to learn the marks and where to fish watching/hava sacking the old hands :)

Everyone is very approachable and the majority will tell you where they fished.

Peter.

What area and zones are proposed? Thats been the problem in the past. If only we could have mixed fishing north and south of the tyne then we may see a few more teams turn out. Its currently limited to hardened rock anglers. Not exactly what you get if you fish the finals where its generally speed fishing for anything! Rock ends can be great when fish are there or theres a bit movement but if not it can be difficult!!
