went out for yet another session at the beacons last night although me and a couple ov lads were sopposed 2 b goin 2 newton but in anyway i ended up with a codling about 2lb. nothing good but at least something loads ov bites all the way through from 11pm till half 2 but my reel was takeing the mick so i took it to bits and the cog inside ov the left caseing on my ambassuder 7200 had broke and it was making a horrible noise and the level wind wouldnt move so i went home. i wud also like some advice on what type ov hooks 2 buy next because i seem 2 be missing a lot of fish as i hav never had this problem before im currently useing mustad viking uptide size 3/0 and i hardly ever missed a fish with them vivras big mouth size 3/0

The sakuma manta hooks are very simlar to the varivas big mouths. They have a wide gape and are very strong and sharp, great for big baits for winter cod. There is also a sakuma manta extra which is made from a thicker wire so are stronger again. Try looking on ebay for them you can get 50 x 4/0's for around £10. The manta extras tend to be a bit more.
