Sailing out of Amble at half tide today and had to keep to the channel in the south side of harbour. Most of the anglers moved their gear (we shouted to ask them) but a group of "heed the balls" refused.Result was a six ounce spider lead and three hooks flew out the water like a rocket, if it hadn't hooked a pellet rope it would have smashed through the cuddy window. The same thing happened last year to the inshore lifeboat and one of the crew was hooked up.The commissioners wanted to stop fishing on the pier but were persuaded not to. I for one, would hate to see fishing banned on the pier but the numpty's always ruin it.
