This event was the Light Line and trophy presentation day…
With the forecast of a dry day and a 16 mph plus from the South, it was looking as though the records may tumble again, but it was only half right as the forecast wind went from 2 to 6 mph with the odd gust to 11 mph but at least it remained dry with a little sun. Two records did fall on the day with Jim Foy taking his own 75g Fixed Spool OTG up over 200yds for a PB and casting machine Peter Thain upped the 50g multiplier to over 211yds. Junior Kyle Powell, 9 yr old, showed us up again by adding 34 yds to his PB with a super 108 yds cast on the 50g with the Fixed spool. Others that were on the PB trail with the lighter leads were Paul Clatworthy, Tim Wrigley, Chris Hughes. With the popularity gaining on the lighter weights I think there will be even more casting of these little blighters next season.
