Nice one Les ,how long does it take to get one of those monsters onto the boat they must take some hauling up from the depths.

hi steve,

the big one took 25 minutes to just pry it off the bottom, the usual gain 10 yards lose 20 sort of thing but once it was moving another 20 minutes in 525 feet of water.

camie did his in about 25 mins as there was a fish on one of the other rods, double hook up, he was shagged....lol

lost another 2 fish back to back, shame....

you can see the kind of gear we use, 50-80lb class, big reels 80lb braid

Now that sounds like a canny workout Les ,I take it they all go back no problem .

the big one had a previous tag so it's been caught at least once before.

there is a fish we have had and last time it was on my boat it was the 7th time it had been reported and i knew 5 or the previous captors, a real slut that one, tony got slagged rotten about stirring 6 other guys porridge...lol

my previous PB was 204lb and it had been caught 2 hours earlier on ronnie campbells boat by a 78 year old man with one lung.....lol

I wonder if a bloke with a broken neck could manage although I struggle to tie my laces at the minute :D:D

Les, has anyone you've taken out just not been able to physically hack it and had to give up on a fish? I had to give up putting a flatpack bookcase for me mam last night because me hand was all tired - really - I'd struggle.

hey ell,

no-one on my boat because i'm REALLY hard on my bitches and crack the whip.....

i had my 12 year old son out the other week to try get his first, to be truthful i think he would have struggled with my big one, it really punched it's weight.

mind you, he pulled the anchor rope in, all 220 metres of it along with a 10kg anchor and 11 metres of 8mm chain, thats my boy.....lol

as for the bookcase, haven't cordless screwdrivers reached geordieland on the covered wagons yet??

we've had them for ages up here....

are you really going to sail a boat from inverness to newcastle??

if you stop off at edinburgh i'll buy you a pint....

He's got a cordless screwdriver but when he pressed a button on it it made a funny noise which frightened him, so he hid in the wardrobe, which was some acheivement as he'd not assembled it yet

yup inverness to the tyne, pint in edinburgh might be tricky, macduff is the more likely port for the 'thompson mutiny' and abandoning of the ship
