[Mad as a fish]

This Fishing trip was a one made on a spur of moment fishing trip made by Bamba, Edwin, and myself.
We set out to go to Oban on Friday afternoon after making up our minds up to go fishing this weekend so we all three of us took less than an hour to get our stuff together and headed to Oban for the weekend and off we went.
We started fishing just before it started to get dark, it was very slow with only one or two dog fish caught and nothing after that for hours then at last a run on one of the reels broke the silence of the quiet dark early hours of the morning, Bamba was into a 16 lb Spurdog.
The next day we fished a few marks but only catching small Pollock untill late afternoon when Bamba was into a nine lb Thornback.
All fish were returned to fight another day.
We all had a great time regardless of the lack of fish

Thanks for the replies lads, it was hard work getting to the marks but well worth it.
We used frozen mackerel and squid, we tried for fresh mackerel i managed to get two small ones seems there was none about.
Forgot to mention when we got there we saw two seals and one otter swimming about.

I am not Bamba Andy, I am a mate of his I have known him from way back.

We are up there for 2 weeks so hope to bag a few fish going to try and get
a trip away for skate and a few trips to etive i think will be in order

Aye mate I have done the same but fished them through and other species some times follow them.

seen bigger whiting bamba mate if i was there i could of getting some pics of you with my fish and you could of sed you caught them haha, you never seem to do 2 well up there with out me haha......... joking aside nice thorny, shame about the big doggie on your box tho
